The Active Care Path: Your Wellness Journey with LifeFit at OhioChiro

Everyone’s fitness journey is unique. Many will face challenges that knock us off the path towards our goals, the path towards our “Awesome”. Uncertainty of where to start or how to get back on track after a setback can send us down a scary path of misinformation, failed treatments and inactivity…a nightmare of choices and indecision. The further we get from an active lifestyle, the harder it is to start and we lose all the benefits of movement and strength.

The journey towards healthy, fit and pain free is an infinite one. While there may be bumps and bruises along the way, we want you on the path towards your Awesome. YOUR path starts here.

Welcome to OhioChiro and our comprehensive approach to patient care through an Active Care Path, a clinic-fitness hybrid connecting the line between physical therapy and fitness. We believe rehabilitation is fitness and fitness is rehabilitation. This path serves as a bridge between injury and sustained physical fitness.

“Rehabilitation is training in the presence of injury.” -Phil Glasgow

When you come to OhioChiro, we hear your story and history of challenges. We discuss your goals (your ‘Awesome’) to develop a personalized Active Care Path with you. A path that bridges the gap between the challenges of pain, injury, failed treatments and conflicting information, and the awesome things you dream to do. The Active Care Path is LifeFit @ OhioChiro.

So, where do we start?

You will be in control when you understand your challenges and are actively involved in the pathway to your goals. There is no shortage of people who say they can help you, but YOU must take control. OhioChiro is your healthcare team and YOU are the captain. Knowledge is power… and the best pain reliever. So, we start with transferring our knowledge to YOU.

A Whole, Part, Whole approach using Movement as Medicine.

Once we get a good understanding of your challenges and what YOUR Awesome looks like, we use a set of whole body movements for two main purposes. First, to see what hurts and what doesn’t, then to find areas for improvement. After we have looked at your whole body movement, we focus more regionally (ie. neck, back, shoulder, hip) on your mobility, stability and strength looking for clues to the cause(s) of your challenge or concern. Finally, we assess the “parts” (ie. joints, muscles, nerves) to further identify movement opportunities for improvement.

Now that we have identified opportunities, we discuss the tools our team has to help, including chiropractic, physical therapy, Active Release Techniques, movement, massage, dry needling, kinesiology taping or laser, and what you can do to start helping yourself. The initial steps on the Active Care Path work to improve the movement (mobility and stability) of the “parts” while increasing skill and decreasing pain and uncertainty.

The next steps on the Active Care Path are designed to put some distance between the challenge that started your journey and the knowledge, skill and confidence that  have gained (think prevention). We do this by strengthening our now-improved whole body movements through a safe, smart and guided program of consistency and accountability…LifeFit.

LifeFit @ OhioChiro is our Physician-Directed, Physical Therapy-Designed and Personal Trainer-Delivered movement and strength program that builds our clients “Health Capital” with the  knowledge, skills and confidence to move well, feel good and live better, so that you can get back to YOUR AWESOME! Our team leverages strengths of chiropractic, physical therapy, massage and personal training to meet you where you are to get you where you want to be…healthy, fit and pain-free.

At OhioChiro, we provide everything you need to navigate through the Active Care Path. You can complete every step of the path, from injury assessment to building strength, all in one place.
